The shape of this bowl is inspired by the gravity well diagram of a celestial black hole.  The upper walls of the bowl are thin enough for light to shine through the strong maple wood fibers.  Natural drying of the wood has given the rim a gentle wave and the bowl itself a slight oval shape.  Tung Oil Finish and carnauba wax add a protective satin finish.
