This intriguing plate is crafted from a branching section of a green ash tree.  Its appearance and texture reveal the complex grain pattern of this section of wood.   The ash for this plate was sourced in the artist's back yard in Collierville, TN and grew from a seedling his son received on Arbor Day in school.  There is a significant amount of wave that developed while drying.  The two cracks are filled and stable.  The plate is finished with Tung Oil Finish and buffed with carnauba wax.
