The amazing grain patterns in this green ash bowl represent the tree's approach to strengthening the wood in a crotch where major branches form.  The tiger stripe pattern is apparent in the inner bottom of the bowl.  The ash for this bowl was sourced in the artist's back yard in Collierville, TN and grew from a seedling his son received on Arbor Day in school.  It is finished in Tung Oil Finish and buffed with carnauba wax. This medium size bowl would be at home holding snacks for a party.
