The shape of this bowl is reminiscent of the gravity well diagram of a cosmic black hole.  The curve follows smoothly into the bowl, across the rounded bottom and back up to the other side.  The gorgeous colors of mature Braford pear combine with the flame pattern to please the eye.  Drying of the wood gave the thin rim a slight wave on the opposite short grain sides and a texture to the flame pattern on the long grain sides that please the touch.  You won't be able to keep from picking this bowl up and exploring it's intriquicies.
