The thin walls of this plate give it a delicate and light feel.  However, the Bradford pear wood is dense and strong.  The wood was sourced in West Tennessee.  The plate has a soft matte finish from the Danish Oil and carnauba wax treatments.  Natural drying of the wood after turning has left a gentle wave to the rim and soft undulations in the flame figuring while the bottom sits flat on a surface.  There is even a bit of live edge bark on one side of the rim.  Imagine a collection of petits fours or bite-size cupcakes resting on this plate.
