This decorative plate was cut from a section of a Bradford pear tree where branches separate.  The feathered grain of this region is apparent on one side of the surface while the live edge of the bark forms part of the rim.  The wood came from West Tennessee and the bowl has a soft matte finish from Danish Oil with a carnauba wax polishing.
